Want to know how to be in a healthy relationship? If you want to be in a healthy relationship, it might require some work. Healthy relationships are built over time and rely on a variety of actions to take place between a couple.

  1. Be Yourself. If you want to be in a healthy relationship, learn to be yourself when you are with your partner. Keep doing things that appeal to you, and do not get so lost in the “couple” that you lose your individuality. If there is something that you have always done, such as play poker with the boys on Wednesday, do not give that up just because you are in a relationship. Similarly, your mate should maintain their individuality as well.
  2. Be Committed. In order to be in a healthy relationship, there has to be a strong sense of trust. The only way this can happen is if you are both committed to remaining faithful in the context of the rules you set for your particular relationship.
  3. Express Yourself. Tell your partner how you feel often in order to be in a healthy relationship. This will give them affirmation that you are still emotionally connected. Women in particular like you to tell them they are loved, needed and desired. Do not be afraid to express yourself emotionally, because it will make your relationship stronger and more healthy.
  4. Play Together. If you want to be in a healthy relationship, spend some time going out with your partner and having fun times together. Often when we get into relationships, they become old and tired. We forget what it was like to date and be spontaneous. Go out on dates, dancing, camping or whatever it is you like to do, but do it together to maintain a healthy relationship.
  5. Keep it New. Keep sex exciting to be in a healthy relationship. You might try different positions or places to keep sex new and fresh. Calling or texting each other with sexy messages will help build the tension and keep sex exciting as well.

A healthy relationship may take some work, but if you are willing to take the time, the payoff can be worth the effort.
