How To Be Organized At Home
Learn how to be organized at home using simple storage solutions. Follow these tips to get organized so you can find things easily and accessibly.
- Closets. Organize your closets using shelving systems and storage bins. Consider installing a shelving system to provide hanging space and storage. You do not have to spend a lot of money on an expensive shelving system from a place like California Closets. Places like Lowes, Home Depot and the Container Store carry shelving systems for a fraction of the price. Also use storage bins to organize clutter, small items and shoes. Label your storage bins for easy access.
- Garage. If your garage is becoming a storage shed rather than a place to park you car, you are probably not alone. Clean out your garage of unnecessary items. Hang bikes on hooks on the wall so they are off the garage floor and out of the way. Install shelves for a clean out of the way storage solution. Anything that you do not want in your house but still want close by, can be put on these shelves. Create a place for your tools. You can use cabinets for large items and a peg board for hanging tools.
- Kitchen. Install pull out shelves under your cabinets if you don't already have them. These can be purchased separately as a kit at any home improvement store. Use tray dividers for utensils and canister sets for things like flour, sugar, coffee, rice, etc. Organize your cabinets and drawers so that the things you use the most often are easily accessible.
