If you want to get into college or are already spending loads of cash on college, make sure you know how to be successful in school. Otherwise, what's the point? If you're going to go to school, do it the right way and strive for the best grades possible.

  1. Join study groups to be successful in school. Two or more heads are always better than one when it comes to studying for school. Join a study group to be successful at school--you can either team up with your friends from class or post a note on the class bulletin board (or send an email) to coordinate with classmates. If you don't grasp certain concepts your classmates can help you out and also encourage you to finish your assignments on time.
  2. Talk to your professors after class. If you're unclear about certain concepts after going to class, don't leave confused. Go up to your teacher or professor after class and ask him specific questions. That's what he's getting paid for--to help you be successful in school. You'll probably find that there are other smart students who stay after class regularly as well to be successful in school.
  3. Turn off the television when you study. Television can be too distracting when you're studying. It not only prolongs the time you spend studying, it can also cause you to lose or miss important information that you need to pass your tests. Turn the television off while you study and turn it back on during breaks instead if you want to be successful in school.
  4. Limit your partying. Many high school and college students make the mistake of prioritizing social activities over school. You can party all you want once you get back those good grades. If you must party, limit it to once per week or twice a month and go home a little early so that you can wake bright and early the next day to study with a clear mind. Responsible partying is key if you want to be successful in school.
