If you want to know how to be a teacher, you will most likely have to obtain a bachelor’s degree. Most school systems will require you to complete a training program that is developed for teachers. You will be helping students to learn English, math, science, and other subjects.

  1. Prepare yourself to be a teacher by graduating from high school or by obtaining a General Equivalency Diploma (GED). Enroll in to a college and complete all the classes and graduate with a Bachelor’s degree. Contact the local school system in your area to see if there are training programs available to help you be a teacher and you may be able to have the educational system pay your tuition.
  2. Decide which subject you will like to teach in order for you to be a teacher. Read and study publications about this subject to help you become proficient and knowledgeable in this field of study. Continue your education and try to get an advanced degree in your field of study to improve your chances to be a teacher.
  3. Apply for and fill out an application for a position in the school system where you will like to work at in the school system in your area so that you can be a teacher. Prepare a resume and a cover letter to fit the job description or hire someone to do this for you. Try to get a list of prepared interview questions so that you can at least know what to expect when it is time for your interview.
  4. Send your resume and cover letter out to several school systems to help you become a teacher. Keep in mind that this process is time consuming but you can find a school system that will hire you if you carefully plan your job search.
