How To Become More Confident

Who doesn’t want to know how to become more confident? After all, people who are more confident seem to be more successful, to have a wider range of social connections, and enjoy life more in general. Not to mention how richer and fuller their romantic lives seems to be. As you have probably noticed, women are more attracted to confident men.

Luckily, it isn’t that difficult to become more confident. In fact, making the decision to become more confident is the first step. The next step is using a few tips and techniques that will slowly but surely help your confidence grow.

  1. Take care of your appearance. How often have you gone somewhere and spent most of your time worrying about how you looked? You’re so busy thinking about how stupid your hair looks or how ugly your shirt is that you can’t actually enjoy yourself. It also makes you more likely to stay away from the people you want to meet because you’re afraid of the impression you’ll make on them. Well, if you take care of your appearance, that’s one less thing you have to worry about. Also, when you know you are looking your best, you will naturally act and feel more confident.
  2. Make a habit of passing out compliments. Remember what happened the last time you complimented someone. The person you complimented probably gave you a big smile, and was sincerely gratified by what you said.  Realizing you made them feel good made you feel good, and it was a feeling you carried with you for a while. On top of that, the other person probably seemed to like you more after that, which will definitely give your confidence a boost. They were probably more likely to do favors for you, or give you little “treats” they wouldn’t give anyone else, too. And all for the price of a few kind words.
  3. Act confident. Even if you don’t feel particularly confident, act like you do. There have been countless studies that show that, when a person acts like they feel a certain way, soon enough it will stop being an act and become reality. (For example, a person who is feeling down can force themselves to smile and, before long, they actually start to feel happier.) So, even when you go into a situation that would usually make you feel shy, nervous or uneasy, act like you are feeling calm, confident and in control. After a while, you’re act won’t be much of an act anymore because you really will be feeling all of those things. And the more you do it, the easier it will get.

Figuring out how to become more confident isn’t that difficult. Doing small little things that make you feel good (and feel better about yourself) will give you little confidence bursts that build up over time. Before long, you’ll realize you’re no longer looking for ways to be more confident. You’re confidence will already be so high that you won’t need to.
