How To Become Thin

Various factors come into play when determining how to become thin. Making the decision to lose weight is a big step, and knowing exactly what you need to do is a key component in achieving your weight loss goal. Use the following strategies to help you to become thin.

  1. Reduce your caloric intake. In order to become thin, it's essential to consume fewer calories than your body burns. To achieve this, try reducing your portion sizes and substituting healthier, lower-calorie foods for high-calorie foods you may be eating. Also, pay attention to the empty calories found in many soft drinks, energy drinks and juices, and replace them with healthier, lower-calorie beverages.
  2. Eat smaller meals more often. Rather than eating three large meals a day, eating five to six smaller meals can help you to lose weight by keeping your metabolism going strong throughout the day. This strategy also can help to keep you feeling satisfied and reduce hunger throughout the day, since you're eating more often. Whatever you do, don't skip meals in an effort to become thin. Skipping meals leads to increased hunger and likely overeating at your next meal.
  3. Increase your physical activity. Another way to become thin is to burn more calories through exercise. You can begin a regular exercise regimen by joining a gym or working out at home on a set schedule. Alternatively, you can choose to increase the amount of calories you're burning with a less structured exercise plan, which may include taking more walks around the neighborhood, getting involved in a team sport, or biking or walking instead of driving to complete errands.
  4. Drink more water. If you want to become thin, it's important to stay hydrated with water. Drinking water flushes waste materials from your body and can also help you to feel full. Since feeling hungry can be confused with feeling thirsty, drinking water may also help to fend off hunger sensations. Easy ways to drink more water include carrying a water bottle with you during the day or incorporating drinking water into your daily routine, such as drinking a glass of water with each meal.
