Many people are looking for information related to how to bet on boxing.  Many times, boxing matches are held in casinos where there is access to gambling, so this makes it very easy to bet on boxing at times.  In the United States, the only place where you can legally bet on boxing is in Las Vegas.  There are other ways to bet on boxing besides doing so at a casino.  There are sports books that are set up online.  Since these websites are based in other countries where gambling on boxing is legal, it is okay to use these websites to bet on boxing.

  1. Understand odds when betting.  When betting there is always a favorite and an underdog.  If there was a bout between two fighters named David Smith and Michael Roberts, here is how the odds might possibly look:  David Smith -135.  If you are new to learning how to bet on boxing, then you probably have no idea what this means.  David Smith is the favorite of this bout.  The -135 means that you would have to wager $135 to win $100.  It could also look like this:  Michael Roberts:  +125.  Michael Roberts is the underdog, so if you wagered $100 on him you would win $125.  Notice the payout is better if you bet on the underdog, because they have less of a chance of winning.
  2. You can also bet on the over/under and totals.  An example of an over/under would be 8.5 rounds.  If you pick under, you win if the bout lasts under 8.5 rounds.  If you pick over the fight must make it past the 8th round for you to win.  Additionally, you can bet on who wins and the total rounds for one fight.
  3. Manage your bankroll intelligently.  When done properly, this prevents a gambler from losing too much money.  Never risk more money than you can accord to lose.

Learning how to bet on boxing can make a fight much more entertaining.  What makes something more interesting than having a little money wagered on it?  If you decide to take up learning how to bet on boxing, make sure you are careful with how much money you wager.  Never wager more money than you are able to lose.  If you decide to get started wagering on boxing, good luck!
