How To Boil A Hot Dog
Learning how to boil a hot dog is quite easy. It may not be the only way to cook a hot dog, but it is one of the more popular methods. Whether you’re just too lazy to fire up the grill or want a quick way to make hot dogs so you can get your grub on, boiling a hot dog is the way to go.
To boil a hot dog you will need:
- Hot dogs
- Saucepan
- Stove
- Water
- Place the hot dog in the saucepan. Open your package of hot dogs and take out as many of the hot dogs you plan on cooking or eating. Place the hot dogs into the saucepan. Make sure not to overcrowd or put too many inside the saucepan as you will need room for water to boil the hot dogs.
- Fill the pan with water. Take the saucepan with the hot dogs placed inside and start filling it with water. You want to make sure that you cover the hot dog completely with water but also do not overfill it. Putting too much water in the saucepan can cause the water to overflow when it is boiling the hot dogs.
- Set it on the stove. Place the saucepan on one of your stoves’ burners. Turn the burner on and set the flame on medium. The water should take a few minutes to begin boiling the hot dogs. Leave the hot dogs to boil for a couple of minutes or to your liking.
- Remove from heat. Turn the stove burner off and carefully pick up the saucepan. Drain the water slowly into your sink while trying not to drop the hot dog and then set the saucepan back on the stove. The hot dog is now boiled and can be eaten.
As you’ve learned, boiling a hot dog is very simple and anyone can master this cooking task. Some people also like to add beer with the water when they boil a hot dog. It can help add flavor and it is less boring. Once you’ve figured out how to boil a hot dog, you are free to test it out with beer and see which method you enjoy most.
