If you can learn how to budget for a vacation with your girlfriend you can accomplish more than one thing at a time.  Naturally, you can make a girlfriend happy by taking her on vacation, but if you know how to budget for a vacation with your girlfriend, you can also impress her with your financial skills. Even if you don't have a lot of money, you can still put some vacation money back by being organized and resourceful.

  1. Plan an itinerary. Before you begin working on a budget for a vacation with your girlfriend, you need to decide exactly what it is that you are going to do on this vacation.  Planning a vacation is more than just deciding on a destination and sleeping accommodations. A vacation with your girlfriend should have some planned activities during the day. Don't forget to plan some romantic evenings as well!
  2. Price the vacation. Once you plan the itinerary for the vacation with your girlfriend, you should be able to price things out so you know what you are looking at having to save up. Itemize everything and estimate high rather than low so that you don't run short. Include travel costs, lodging costs, dining costs and any recreational activities you have planned to work into the budget for a vacation with your girlfriend.
  3. Look for deals. Search for coupons online and package deals for your vacation with your girlfriend. You may even want to consider doing some mystery shopping while you are on vacation to save on expenses.
  4. Start saving. As you plan your budget for your vacation with your girlfriend, you need to figure out how you can start saving. One of the easiest way to do this is to figure out your monthly bills, then divide them into weeks. Every week take out the money for your monthly bills. Put that money into separate envelopes that are labeled accordingly. Once you have done this, you can plan for how much you can save each week toward your vacation with your girlfriend. If at all possible, plan the vacation time around when it is easiest for you to save up the money. To do this, divide the total amount you needs for your vacation by the amount you are able to put back each week. The answer will tell you how many weeks it will take you to save up for this vacation. You may want to add a week or two to that amount in order to plan for emergency financial situations. Don't forget to account for time off from work to go on vacation if you don't get vacation pay!
