How To Build A Cheap Chopper
Do you want to learn how to build a cheap chopper? You may not be sure how to go about finding the best way to build a good chopper. However, the good news is it’s not as hard as you may think.
- Use A Kit or Build From Scratch. You may decide to get a kit for your chopper so you can build it cheaply. These kits usually have everything needed in order to start the building of the chopper. This means all the engine parts as well as body parts for the chopper. While you may decide to change certain items in the kit, the kit can get you started. Building from scratch is great for those that can work with metal and fabricate his or her parts and chassis. This may also be a cheaper option if you can do all the work on your own. You may also decide to take a rat rod approach to the build and use some things he or she already owns to build a cheap chopper.
- Assembly of the Chopper. This is where learning how to build a cheap chopper really comes into play. You will take all of the parts for the engine and assemble them first. This way, you won’t have to deal with this later. The next thing in assembly is to actually put the chassis together and weld in the designs the builder may have created. A simple chopper may be a basic build of just the tank, the seat, the fenders and the drive chains. Of course, the engine will need to also be placed on the chassis and secured.
- Painting the Chopper. Unless you wants to build a cheap chopper that is a basic metal look, you will want to work on a paint scheme for it as well. If you are not good at painting, you can hire someone to do this for them. It will cost a little more, but the look may be worth it. If you have painted cars or bikes before, you may be comfortable with this process. The first thing with painting that will need to be done is the base color. This is the color that will show up under the main design on the chopper. Even a simple design will require this step to ensure the chopper looks its best. The painting should be done in an enclosed area and with a mask protecting the painters face. This ensures there are no bugs or other errant items in the paint. It also protects the painter from the paint fumes.
That’s all there is to building a cheap chopper for any person’s needs. Once the paint is dry, the bike can be ridden and you can show off your work. You can really have a great piece that is your own and can smile at all the hard work you put into the bike.
