How To Build A Premiere Resort Golf Course

If you have a talent for golf course architecture, you may want to find out how to build a premiere resort golf course. Golf course construction is a major project, which will require a strong support team to get the job done. The resort owners must give the golf course architect a site plan, which will be used to layout the course in detail. A premiere resort golf course should be constructed using the latest computer architecture software. The golf course must have state-of-the-art facilities, and be as environmentally-friendly as possible in order to not upset the existing ecosystem.

  1. Design the premiere resort golf course layout. Nearly all golf architects use computer programs to assist with the design of a premiere resort golf course. Using this software they are able to determine the slope required for each hole to drain properly, and the amount of soil that needs to be removed or added.
  2. Determine the location of irrigation equipment. One of the most important determinations in order to build a premiere resort golf course is the location of the underground irrigation systems. If the course is overly irrigated in certain areas, pools of water will hinder player performance. If the course is too dry, the grass will die. The golf course architect will use their computer to help them properly place the irrigation system for each hole on the course.
  3. Begin the construction by clearing the site. To build a premiere resort golf course, the architect will need surveyors and a team of construction workers to raze the site in certain areas. The holes will need to each be graded according to the architect’s instructions. Landscape architects may also be brought in to assist with the clearing process.
  4. Install the irrigation equipment. All of the pump locations and sprinkler heads will require precise placement in order for the course to be properly irrigated. Grass will be planted according to requirements, and the irrigation system will be started. The architects will review each hole on the premiere resort golf course to monitor erosion and drainage.
  5. Finalize the landscaping of the course. The landscape architect will add trees and shrubbery as their budget allows. They will work with the resort owners to beautify the course as needed.
  6. Complete construction of the clubhouse and other facilities. Once all of the buildings and storage facilities for golf carts and miscellaneous equipment are constructed, the premiere resort golf course will be ready to open for business. The golf course architect will then work with the maintenance staff to address any issues that may arise during the first few months after the course has opened.
