Learning how to build a skateboard mini-ramp can take some time and devotion, but if done correctly, the results make it all worthwhile. A few materials are needed to build a skateboard ramp, and a basic understanding of how to use tools is imperative. The following tips will show you how to build a skateboard mini-ramp.

To build a skateboard mini-ramp, you will need:

  • 3 sheets of plywood
  • 10 two-by-fours (the exact number may vary)
  • A saw (a table saw or electric hand saw will be easiest to use)
  • 1/8 inch nails
  1. To build your mini-ramp, first purchase all of the necessary materials. Set them in the area where you are going to construct the ramp.
  2. Next, note the actual dimensions of your ramp. Using three sheets of plywood, lined up length-wise, is a great size. Now you will actually learn how to construct the ramp.
  3. Using two-by-fours as the base, cut smaller sections of two-by-fours, which will be stood up to support the curved plywood on either end. To build one side of the ramp, set two two-by-four sections side by side, set apart by the width of the plywood, and nail segments of two-by-fours, cut the designate the outline of the curved plywood on top of the base pieces. The ones furthest away from the center of the ramp should be tallest. Then, once you have two bases (for one side of the ramp), nail the plywood on top of these.
  4. Build the other side of the ramp using the same method. Now, after two individual, curved ramps have been constructed, you will learn how to build the skateboard mini-ramp's interior section, which connects both sides.
  5. Using two more two-by-fours, run horizontal bases between the bottoms of the two separate, curved ramps. Nail the third piece of plywood to this. Nail the middle section to the two ramps, and you should have a functional mini-ramp.

Learning how to build a skateboard mini-ramp is a serious process, but it can provide great fun after it is complete. To make the sturdiest ramp, use many sections of two-by-fours as studs, standing vertically from the base boards, as the more supports used, the tougher the ramp will be.
