If not, you are probably a beginner, a powder or a want to be racer. This all depends on your style.
- Check out all the types of downhill skis online. Read about the skis and try to see what kind of skier you are. Take notes in your notebook about the skis and how they compare to your skiing. Take your knowledge with you to a major ski resort.
- At the ski resort, rent the types of skis you believe fit your skiing style. Most major resorts will let you rent skis by the hour. Tell them what you are trying to do and they will most likely understand. Try a pair of skis out. Try another pair of skis out. Try as many types of skis you have to find out which type of skis fit your skiing style best.
- Go to a ski shop with your information. Look at the skis that fit your style. Compare the skis to the money you are willing to spend. Buy the skis if you can afford to buy them.
- You can also check online for skis. You can also look at a sporting goods store for skis. You can look at eBay for used skis if you cannot afford new skis. It is up to you where you buy the skis.
- Make sure you buy quality skis. It does not matter if they are new or used. What matters is if the skis you buy are good quality. Skis are expensive. Ski equipment is expensive. Skiing is an expensive sport. Make sure you buy skis that are going to last. You do not want to waste your money.
- Buy skis during the off-season. Skis will be on sale when ski season is over. If you want the best deal, wait until the skiing season is over to buy your skis.
