Wondering how to buy a new motorcycle? Buying a new motorcycle is a fun and exciting time for anyone who loves to ride. Face it, the wind in your face and hair is a wonderful feeling. It lets you forget about life for just a few hours. When looking into buying a new motorcycle, there are a few things you need to consider.

Things you'll need:

  • Be at least eighteen years old
  • Motorcycle permit
  1. Shop around. Always shop around before you jump into buying something. You would not buy a house without checking out other options.
  2. Check out the different makers. Look for different styles that you may like. Motorcycle makers have different sizes and styles to choose from. Honda, Harley Davidson and Yamaha are three of the best motorcycle makers.
  3. Ask questions concerning any major concerns with mechanical problems known on the make and model you are considering. Some motorcycles are famous for oil leaks. Others may have electrical problems. It is always best to ask what concerns there could be in the future.
  4. Be sure to check out the different accessories you can buy for motorcycles. Accessories are great additions to any motorcycle, such as saddle bags and cup holders.
  5. Make sure to buy a motorcycle that will fit your body type. You will want to purchase a motorcycle that fits your height and weight. Be sure to purchase a motorcycle you can sit on comfortably.
  6. Take into consideration how heavy or light you want the motorcycle. You do not want to purchase a motorcycle that weighs more than you can handle. Starting, stopping, backing up all need to be considered.
  7. If you see a motorcycle that catches your eye, strike a deal. If a dealer wants to sell bad enough, he will work on your terms or meet you halfway. If not, let him know you will be shopping around at other dealers.
  8. Take a class at a local college to learn to ride. It usually takes about three days to earn your motorcycle permit.
