3. Look at the parts on the skateboard for its quality. Pay very close attention to the wheels, the bearings and the trunks when you go to buy a skateboard.  Make sure the wheels are not made out of plastic because they will they will not grip the ground well. The bearings are what support the wheels. Spin the wheels to make sure they spin freely and do not jam. Trunks are the "axles" or the "bone" of the skateboard. The trunks should be made of good, sturdy metal.
4. Purchase a board that fits in your budget. If you begin shopping for skateboards and find they are more expensive that what you assumed, wait to buy one until you can afford a good quality one. If you buy a skateboard that is cheap from a big toy store or department store, don't expect it to last long and be worth your time and money. It takes a good amount of money to buy a good quality skateboard that is going to fit you right. Wait a little longer (if needed) to save up more money to purchase a good quality skateboard.
