So, you want to learn how to buy a wet suit? Wet suits are sold in many different sizes, shapes, colors, and levels of thickness. Some are also sold for severe cold water conditions. You would normally buy a wet suit for swimming, surfing, deep sea diving, and water sporting events.

  1. Get several up dated catalogs from wet suit retailers to help you buy a wet suit. Ask the retailers to send you their wet suit catalog and look through the catalog to see which kind of wet suit you want to buy. Think about which activity you will most likely need your wet suit for.
  2. Measure yourself or have someone to measure you to help you buy a wet suit. Obtain a cloth measuring tape and measure your waist line and then your upper body shoulder-to-shoulder. Measure your thighs and measure your height. Use the measurements to help you select your wet suit in the catalog. Do not forget to compare pricing in the catalog.
  3. Decide how much money you can afford to spend to help you buy a wet suit. Review the pricing in the catalogs and see what price range will fit your budget. Decide how you are going to pay for your wet suit. (i.e., cash, credit card, check, etc.). Ask the retailer for a discount on the wet suit. A wet suit can cost anywhere from $50.00 to $350.00.
  4. Make your payment to buy your wet suit. Pay for the wet suit and have the vendor ship the wet suit to your home. Try on your wet suit and you should have a comfortable snug fit.
