• Measuring tape

1. The first step. To calculate the square footage of a room, you will need to get your measuring tape out out and note down the length of the room. Note this down on your paper.
2. The second step. Now that you know how many feet the length is, it is time figure out the width. Traditionally the length is longer than the width but do not worry about semantics.
