Now that you have been surprised with a brand new ring you may be wondering, "How can I clean my gold diamond ring?" Sweat from your hands and pollutants from the air can dim the shine of your ring significantly. However, nobody wants to part with his or her gold diamond ring for very long. Clean your precious jewel in the comfort of your own home. Regular cleanings will keep your jewelry sparkling.

  • Ring
  • Ceramic bowl
  • Cup of warm water
  • Teaspoon of window cleaner
  • Liquid dish detergent
  • Soft bristled toothbrush
  • Soft clean cloth
  • Electric toothbrush
  • Jewelry box
  1. Place the ring in a small ceramic bowl, away from the sink where it can get lost.
  2. Add a cup of warm water and a teaspoon of window cleaner to the cup. If you like, substitute the window cleaner with the same amount of gentle liquid dish detergent.
  3. Allow the ring to sit in the mixture for about thirty minutes.
  4. Use a soft bristled brush to scrub the diamond gently, loosening up any debris trapped in the setting. Return the ring to the solution to soak a little longer.
  5. Remove the ring from the dish and set it safely aside. Fill the bowl halfway with warm, not hot water. Dip the ring in the water a few seconds to remove the solution.
  6. Dry off the ring with a soft clean cloth. Do this in a safe place, not over the sink where the ring can fall down the drain.
  7. Remove deep down dirt with an electric toothbrush. Avoid scraping the diamond with the tip of the wand.
  8. Store your ring in a jewelry box that has a soft interior. Close the box to keep the ring clean.
