How Can I Volunteer For Earth Day In San Diego?

It's never to early to start planning, so take the time now to learn, "How can I volunteer for Earth Day in San Diego?" If you didn't already know, Earth Day is a time to think about the impact you are having on the environment, raise awareness and contribute time or money to a worth environmental cause. Here are some ways you can get involved by volunteering for Earth Day in San Diego.

1. EarthFair. EarthFair is an annual Earth Day event in San Diego. They recruit approximately 400 volunteers each year for their "Earthworks Celebration." The celebration endeavors to raise awareness by providing an Environmental Fair, which is like a party for 60,000 people. You can volunteer in one of the booths, the parade or in the food pavilion. This is the largest free Earth Day event in the nation. If you want to volunteer, you should contact San Diego Earthworks in January. Located in Balboa Park 1549 El Prado, San Diego, CA 92101.
2. Creek to Bay Cleanup. Volunteer for "I love a Clean San Diego" and help clean up the beaches in the San Diego area. This project focuses on the more neglected water areas of San Diego, not just the coveted Dr. Suess owned beaches of La Jolla. On Earth Day of 2010, volunteers of the Creek to Bay Clean Up cleaned up one million pounds of trash. You don't have to wait for Earth Day to Volunteer; "I Love a Clean San Diego" coordinates beach clean ups and graffiti cover-ups throughout the year.
3. Carlsbad Arbor Day celebration. This Earth Day event doesn't actually take place on Earth Day, but close enough. Carlsbad's Parks & Recreation hosts a community tree-planting event from 9 to 11 a.m. on April 24. Volunteers can expect to contribute to Earth day by planting trees, restoring irrigation basins and picking up trash. To volunteer for this annual Earth Day event, just show up at 8:30 a.m. to register. located at Aviara Community Park, 6435 Ambrosia Lane Carlsbad, California 90029.
