How To Catch Bigger Fish

Fishing is an excellent activity, but many seasoned fishers find themselves asking how to catch bigger fish. You may have friends that seem to catch bigger fish than you all the time, and this may be the reason you’re interested in upping your game. Whatever the reason may be, you can definitely control whether or not you catch bigger fish, and this guide will show you exactly how to do so.

  1. If you want to find out where the bigger fish are, start at your local bait shop. There are a few simple ways that you can figure out where the bigger fish are by simply looking around a bait shop. For example, you can check out the pictures on the wall of the large fish that fisherman have caught and check for the location. Chances are, the name of the lake will be listed with the picture. You can also ask local fishers in the shop as well as employees.
  2. Pay attention to the bait you’re using. Maybe you like to use artificial bait to bring all of the fish in, but sticking with live bait may be your best bet for finding the bigger fish. Also, remember that the bigger the bait, the better your odds are of snagging bigger fish. The size of the bait is important because smaller fish cannot take large bait.
  3. Purchase the bait that your target fish feeds on. Maybe you’re trying to catch a certain type of fish. In this case, use bait that this fish is naturally looking for. This also coincides with using live bait. You wouldn’t eat a rubber model of a cheeseburger; consider fish to think like this too.
  4. Remember that you do not have to go on a road trip to catch big fish. Bigger fish are not hiding out in exotic locations. You do not have to travel just to get a chance at catching some; all you need is patience and better technique!
