How To Change The Battery In A Fossil Watch
As with all watches, there will come a time when you will need to know how to change the battery in a fossil watch. Depending on the voltage of the battery and the amount of voltage used by the watch, a battery watch can last over 5 years or longer. Whenever a battery requires replacing, it is more economical to replace the battery yourself. The process is simple and only takes a few minutes.
- To change the battery in a Fossil watch, unscrew or pop off the back of the watch cover. Circular Fossil watches usually have a cover which has to be unscrewed in order to be removed. Take a small tool to insert into each end of the back of the watch cover and carefully unscrew it. If the watch is square, insert the tip of a small tool into one of the slots on the side of the watch cover. Gently pry it from the body of the watch. Screwdrivers contained within the sets of eyeglass tools found at any drug or discount store are perfect for this task.
- Locate and remove the battery. The battery in a fossil watch is usually a flat metal disk that is in a spring tightened holder which is partially covered by a nylon like cover. To change the battery you will have to insert a small screwdriver into the slots on each side to remove the cover. Next, release tension on one side of the holder of the battery holding the battery to release it and pull it out.
- Replace with the new battery. Insert the new battery into the same slot as the old one came from. Make sure that the holder correctly keeps the battery snug without movement as before. Replace the nylon cover unto the back of the battery and holder, take care not to disturb any other internal parts of the watch while accomplishing this step in changing the battery.
- Return the back cover. Either screw the cover back onto the watch or snap the cover back into place, depending on if it was screwed or pulled off. Make sure the cover is snug and fits correctly. It is important that the cover is returned correctly to ensure your fossil watch remains waterproof.
