Things you will need for this maintenance:

  • Bike
  • Pedals

Steps

  1. Set your bike up. You can either lay the bike down or stand it up. Leaving the bike upward is the easiest way to perform this task. Using the adjustable wrench, loosen the pedal nut at the base of the pedal.
  2. With your fingers complete the removal of the nut from the pedal. The pedal will slide off the stem, set it aside. Do the same on the other side. Take this opportunity to clean the pedal stem.
  3. Place the first of the two pedals on the stem. Use your finger to tighten the nut. Then use the wrench to tighten the nut. Do the same with the second pedal and complete the replacement. Take the bike for a non-intrusive ride to make sure the pedals are properly seated.
