So your car is acting funny and you need to know how to change a car battery as soon as possible. The car will not start and you know that the battery is the cause. Well, below are instructions on how to change a car battery to get it up and running in no time.

To change a car battery, you will need:

  • wrench
  • car battery
  • baking soda and water
  • wire brush
  1. Remove the battery. Using the wrench, loosen and take off the black cable on the battery, then do the same with the red one. Then, use the wrench and take off the clamps and bolts. Remove the battery from the tray using both hands.
  2. Clean the battery tray. Using the baking soda and water paste solution, clean off the tray with a wire brush. Dab the paste around it to free it of rust. Keep in mind that corrosion on the tray can only be cleaned with baking soda. Nothing else is to be used unless it is a commercial battery cleaning solution.
  3. Put in the new battery. Once the corrosion from the old battery is all cleaned out, all you have to do is put in the new battery. After you put the battery in, make sure that you secure the clamps and bolts back into the places they were removed from. Also, make sure to re-connect the cables into the battery. Once everything is properly secures, you are now finished. The car should now start with no problems.
