After right-clicking you will see a gray pop up window. Next you will want to left-click properties. This will bring up a new window.
- System Properties window. You will see many tabs listed in this window. The tab you are looking for is Computer Name; click this tab.
- Computer Name tab. You will see a statement as follows: "To rename this computer or join a domain, click Change." Next to this line you will see a change button. Click the change button.
- Computer name text box. You will see a new window open up called Computer Name Changes. The only field you are concerned with is the Computer Name text box. You will see a name already in the text box. Just delete this name and enter a new name of your choice. Click OK, then click Apply and then click OK again. Next the computer will ask to "restart now." Go ahead and restart the computer and you will see that you changed the computer name successfully.
