How To Change iPhone Name
You can call your shiny, new toy anything you desire if you know how to change the iPhone name. The stock name is usually something boring like your actual name or initials instead of "Mr. Sparkle" or "Doom Bone." Unlike most of the software options that Apple usually writes in stone, this is one aspect you can customize. All you need to accomplish this is the latest and greatest version of Apple’s iTunes and a computer.
To change your iPhone name, all you need is:
- Your iPhone
- Computer
- A current copy of iTunes
- A great and superior name that no one has ever used in the history of mankind
Steps
- Preparing to be amazed. The first step in the amazing journey to change your iPhone name begins at your computer. Turn it on. Load iTunes and make sure it is a current version. If you have an ancient copy of iTunes that was forged before the era of the iPhone, it may not recognize the device. If you see a camera icon, you have an old copy of iTunes and will need to upgrade.
- Plug it in. Now go ahead and plug your iPhone into the computer. Give it a second to recognize a new device and keep your eye on the iTunes left hand menu. When you see your iPhone displayed, click on it once. Allow iTunes to do its thing which is to display your iPhone’s summary screen.
- Gentlemen, behold. After iTunes puts up a display of your iPhone, click the device one more time in the left hand menu. The name of your iPhone will be highlighted and you will now be able to change it something completely awesome. When you are done, press enter.
