Need to know how to change the name of your iPod? Maybe you set it incorrectly the first time so you'll need to change it. Whatever the reason, changing the name of your iPod is perfectly safe. It doesn't change anything about the iPod itself. All it does is display the name of your iPod in iTunes and maybe your iPod. Here is how to change the name of your iPod.

Make sure that you have the following:

  • Any type of iPod
  • iTunes
  • iPod Cable
  • Computer
  1. Plug in your iPod. Take your iPod and your iPod cable and connect the big end into your iPod. Make sure that your iPod is face upward and the side of the cable with the gray rectangle is faced upward. Now, take the other side of the cable and plug it into the computer. Now, set your iPod down so that way your hands are free.
  2. Open up iTunes. When you installed iTunes, a shortcut should have been placed on your desktop. Double click on that shortcut and wait a second for iTunes to pop up. If a shortcut was not placed on your desktop, click on the start orb at the bottom left of your screen. Then, type iTunes into the search bar. Wait for a second for the list to change to show iTunes. Then, click on iTunes and wait for iTunes to pop up.
  3. Changing the name. Once iTunes pops up, you may need to wait a few seconds for your iPod to be listed on the left sidebar in iTunes. When your iPod shows up, click on the name once. Click directly on the name and wait for a second until the iPod name is highlighted in a white box. Click into the white box and erase the name of your iPod. Then, type in the name you want it to be and press enter.
  4. You're finished. You have now changed the name of your iPod.
