Learning how to check a Discover Card balance is very important for cardholders. Perhaps they need this information to think about making a large purchase, or maybe they are budgeting and are adding up their debt totals. Introduced in 1985, Discover card currently has over fifty million card holders. There are three different ways they can check their balances (by telephone, online, and mail).
- Call Discover and use the instant automated telephone system. The telephone number to reach Discover card is 1-800-347-2683. It's a toll free number and allows the caller to choose an option to hear their current balance. This method is quick and easy. The telephone menu tree also gives cardholders the option to speak with a representative if personal contact is preferred. One can also check the last few transactions, payments received by Discover, as well as hear the address to send in a payment.
- Log into www.Discovercard.com. The Discover card website allows members to log in and check their current balance. This method is probably the best method for computer savvy individuals. It is pretty easy to set up an online user name and password. It only takes a few minutes. Please note: The Account Center is closed for maintenance every Sunday from 1 a.m. to 6 a.m. EST.
- Write a letter. Yes, people still use snail mail, although this method will take the longest to receive a response. It is possible to communicate with Discover by mail. The mailing address is: Customer Service, Discover Financial Services, P.O. Box 30943, Salt Lake City, UT 84130-0943
