How To Choose Beach Wedding Clothes

Need to figure out how to choose beach wedding clothes? While some brides wear flowing white gowns, others wear a bikini. In order to choose wedding clothes for a groom, you need to first know what the bride will be wearing-it really is her day-and then plan accordingly. Getting married on the beach usually means being more comfortable and natural than usual, but there are still options to consider.

How to Choose Beach Wedding Clothes

  1. Find out what the bride plans. She may be picturing you in bermuda shorts, an Izod-type shirt and brown sandals. Maybe she wants you to wear drawstring white pants with a dark men's shirt. The bride should get what she wants as weddings are exceedingly important to women.
  2. Choose a top. Assuming you are going to be in charge of picking your outfit, or at least having some input, you need to choose what to wear as a top. Options include a white men's shirt, a linen shirt, a T-shirt, a men's shirt with a tie or simply left open at the neck. For a more formal beach wedding, a lighter colored suit may be an option.
  3. Select pants. White drawstring pants, khaki or wheat-colored slacks, or a light colored linen pants are all good options. In the case of a light colored suit, you would already have slacks as part of the suit. In an extremely casual ceremony, a man may be able to wear shorts.
  4. Choose shoe wear. Your options here are numerous. Wear men's dress shoes in brown if wearing dress slacks, or brown sandals if you're wearing a more casual ensemble such as khaki-colored linen pants. In some beach weddings, the groom may be barefoot if the bride is planning on being barefoot as well.

Now, you hopefully have some idea on how to choose beach wedding clothes. It really comes down to what degree of formality the bride and groom decide upon.  Options range from light-colored suits to shorts and bare feet. With a bit of effort, you can choose beach wedding clothes that are just perfect for your beach wedding.
