Are you opening your own shop and wondering how to choose a business name? This article will give you some advice on doing just that. Opening your own business is stressful enough without having to stress over giving it a business name. When opening your new establishment you will want to consider the factors listed below. The tips will tell you how to go about choosing a name that suits what you're selling or the services you will offer.

  1. Consider what you're selling. For example, if you're selling antiques you will want to choose a name that refers to the type of antiques you will be selling. If you are dealing stickily in antique furniture consider using your name in the title of your store. If your name is Lisa, the store could be called "Lisa's Antique Furniture."
  2. If you're a boat mechanic, consider what type of boats you will be working on. If you deal in nothing but bass tracker boats, you could consider "Bass Tracker Boat Repair." If you like your name included you might consider using your last name and go with something like, "Harris Bass Tracker Boat Repair."
  3. A business name is all about you. Make sure that no matter what type of business you open that you consider how to draw in customers. A business name that describes what type of business you are usually does really well. A business name should always include something describing the sales or services offered. Small or large businesses do really well with catchy names because when someone searches for a service or product, they're inclined to go with what catches their eye.
