Sometimes you have to make hard decisions once you learn how to choose a new career. If you are not happy at your job, before you choose a new career you should try and save up some money. This will allow you to take your time looking for new employment and will take some of the pressure off.
To choose a new career you need:

- Savings
- Find out some information when you choose a new career. Use the internet to look for job data on the career you want. Look for salary figures and see if the career is a good option for the amount of money you need to earn. Try to find out if the career has good promotions, such as management level after a certain number of years.
- Figure out what you are good at to choose a new career. If you like working with people you might be good in a customer service type of job. If you don’t like working with customers a back office position is probably better. You want to be happy when you choose a new career so if a position is too much like your present job you might want to keep looking.
- Check to see what you need to do to switch to a new career. Some jobs require a four year college degree or work experience to apply. If you choose a new career that requires extra education, you might still qualify if you have a strong interview and can sell yourself to the company. Tell them what you have to offer and see if you get the job.
- Submit your resume online to see what new career is good for you. There are job websites online that you can upload your resume to, and they will try and find you a new career based on your talents. This will help you to decide which type of work you might be good at, and will also help you look on your own for different jobs.
