Figuring out how to choose the perfect wetsuit can be a difficult decision. A wetsuit must be a combination of many things. The perfect wetsuit should be comfortable, and fit correctly. It should also fit the wearer's personal style. Whether choosing a wetsuit for recreation or professional use, these tips will help you figure out how to choose the perfect wet suit.

  1. Choose a wetsuit that fits very snuggly. The perfect wetsuit fits like a second skin. It should be relatively tight. As a matter of fact, it’s probably not tight enough unless you think it’s too tight, but you should not be uncomfortable. You should be able to move around with the suit without constriction. If there the suit that is puffed from being too loose, it will trap and collect air and water. This can affect how you move. Any water in the suit will slow you down.
  2. Keep in mind the temperature of the water you will be in. If you will be swimming in warmer water, choose a suit with a lightweight fabric. If you will be swimming in colder water choose a suit with a heavier fabric. Remember, the thicker the suit, the more difficult it will be to freely move.
  3. Choose the length that best fits your needs and preferences. There are different types of suit styles. The two main styles are the spring suit and the steamer. The spring suit has short sleeves and comes above the knee. A steamer has long sleeves and comes down to the ankles.
  4. Choose a suit that fits your personality. Many people opt for a traditional solid colored wetsuit, but the design options are endless. If you want something a little different than what everyone else is wearing, seek out a wetsuit that has a wild color or design. There is even a wetsuit that looks like the swimmer has been attacked by a shark. There are definitely some wild designs. Remember, you have to wear the suit. You deserve to like how you look!
