How To Clean Converse Athletic Shoes

You know that you could probably throw them in the washing machine, but you don't want to take that chance. Converse athletic shoes do require special care to keep them looking good. To clean Converse athletic shoes, you will need:
- white vinegar
- banking soda
- toothbrush
- small container
- hot water
- Dampen your shoes. First, remove the laces from your Converse athletic shoes. This will give easy access to cleaning around the tongue of your shoe. Next, run your shoes under lukewarm water to dampen them before cleaning. When you are done dampening them, shake off any access water.
- Mix the solution to clean your shoes. In a small container, combine one to two tablespoons of baking soda, one to two tablespoons of white vinegar, and one to two tablespoons of hot water. Mix everything together until you get a consistency that is like paste.
- Clean your Converse shoes. Using a toothbrush, work the past mixture into the rubber soles and canvas of your Converse athletic shoes. If you have deep stains that are not coming out, work in a circular motion to help remove these stains. If at any time you need more paste mixture, just mix some more.
- Rise and dry your shoes. Once you are done cleaning your shoes with the paste mixture, rinse your shoes thoroughly to remove all of the paste under lukewarm water. If needed, repeat this process for additional cleaning. Let your Converse athletic shoes dry in a completely in a warm, sunny place. Replace the laces when dry.
