How to clean field hockey clothing:

    1. Remove them from the player. While outside give them a firm shake to remove any dust or dirt. If you have stains on them then use the stain remover on those spots. Use stain stick versus stain spray. The moisture of the spray tends to cling to the fabric makeup of field hockey jerseys and pants. Turn the field hockey clothing inside out. This will protect the insignia and number on the jersey from fading.
    2. Turn the washing machine on to gentle. Use only cold water for both the wash and rinse cycles. Hot water will break down the fabric and any designs associated to the clothing. Allow the tub to fill about half way. Add the mild detergent. Allow the tub to completely fill. Let the wash cycle begin to thoroughly mix the water and detergent.
    3. Place the field hockey clothing into the tub. Push the clothing into the water. Set to extra rinse and wait for the complete washing to finish. Place the field hockey clothing in the dryer, on fluff or air dry. Using heated or a more abrasive drying will also damage the clothing by weakening the material and the add on (insignia, numbering etc.).
    4. Run one cycle of the dryer. Remove the field hockey clothing from the dryer and flat dry. Once completely dry fold and put away until your next game.
