Vinegar is good way to remove dirt and grime but it also removes odors from many types of porous surfaces. Not only is vinegar cheap, its commonly found in the household.
To clean furniture you will need:
- Clean, soft cloths
- Olive oil
- Cleaning woodwork. Mix equal parts of vinegar and olive oil and polish furniture with a soft cloth. Before polishing large pieces of furniture, try the polish for the first time try an inconspicuous place first.
- To remove built up polish from wood work. Mix equal parts of vinegar to warm water and use a soft bristled cloth to rub the area. Immediately dry the area with a soft cloth, leaving water on a wood surface will damage the surface.
- Cleaning leather furniture. Mix equal solutions of water and white vinegar. Use sparingly and do tests spot first in an inconspicuous area to ensure no discoloration happens. When testing, leave the mixture on for a minute and rinse with clean water and dry.
- Cleaning wicker furniture. Mix equal parts of water and white vinegar. Using a hard bristled toothbrush, brush between the wicker with the cleaning solution to clean the dirt. You may find that you have to use a high-powered hose to remove dirt that’s embed deeply into the groves if your set is an outdoor set that has been exposed to the elements.
