How To Clean Pen Marks Off A Leather Jacket
There are a few different ways for how to try to clean pen marks off a leather jacket. Don't freak out yet. It is not the end of the world for your favorite leather jacket. Pen marks are actually one of the easier stains to remove from leather.
Things you will need to remove pen marks from a leather jacket:
- Rubbing alcohol
- Cotton swabs
- Take your leather jacket to a professional cleaner. A professional is the only sure way to remove pen marks from leather. Your leather jacket is precious to you. A professional will not ruin the leather or make the stain worse than it already is.
- You can get pen marks out of your leather jacket at home. With the use of some rubbing alcohol and some clean cotton swabs you can do the job yourself. Rubbing alcohol is the safest product to use. Other products can ruin leather since it is such a delicate and porous material.
- Lay your leather jacket out flat, stain up. Dip the cotton swab in rubbing alcohol. Gently rub the pen mark with the cotton swab. When you start to see the ink transferring to the swab, get a new cotton swab. You don't want to make a bigger pen mark on your leather jacket.
- You may have to repeat this cleaning process a few times. It may take a few cotton swabs for all of the pen mark to be removed from the leather. Be careful not to apply too much pressure when cleaning the stain. This may result in removing the color from your leather jacket.
