  2. Scrub the shells with a toothbrush.  An important step when you clean shells from the beach is to scrub them well. After the shells are done soaking take each one out individually. Run the shell under warm tap water while scrubbing it with a toothbrush. This will allow you to get rid of any dirt that is remaining.
  3. Put the shells out in the sun. After you are done scrubbing the shells, allow them to dry out in the sun. The sun will dry off all the water from the shells.
  4. Polish your shells. After the shells are completely dry you can shine them up a bit. Take cotton ball that is saturated with baby oil and rub it over the sea shells. This will give your shells a nice shiny luster.

Use your newly cleaned shells to decorate your home. They can be displayed in a bowl in your bathroom or glued to a frame. Once you learn to clean shells from the beach your possibilities to decorate with them are endless.
