How To Clean Stainless Steel Cufflinks
Learn how to clean stainless steel cufflinks with jewelry cleaner or simply use items you have around your home. Stainless steel cufflinks are a versatile accessory for men. They can make a tuxedo look better and dress up a causal dinner jacket. Stainless steel is a tough and versatile metal. However, you still need to clean them with care and keep them stored in a cushioned box to protect them from scratches. Often the cufflinks can be cleaned with a soft dry cloth or tissue paper. However, occasionally a more thorough cleaning will be needed to keep them looking their best.
What you'll need:
- Mild liquid detergent
- Warm water
- Bowl
- Lint free cloth
- Soft toothbrush
- Polishing cloth
- Wipe away surface dirt before you start to clean your stainless steel cufflinks. Mix one teaspoon of mild liquid detergent and one cup of warm water. Dip a lint free cloth into the soapy water. Rub the cloth gently over the stainless steel jewelry.
- Use the soft toothbrush to carefully scrub into any crevices which you cannot reach with the soft cloth. Only use where necessary and be gentle to keep from scratching the stainless steel surface. A baby’s toothbrush is the perfect tool for this job.
- Rinse the cloth well in clean warm water and wring out the excess. Wipe the cufflinks with the damp cloth to remove all of the soapy residue.
- Wipe the stainless steel cufflinks with a dry cloth. Use the polishing cloth to buff away any smudges. Make sure it is completely dry before storing.
