By keeping some basic guidelines in mind, you can learn how to clean a taco shell fryer. No matter if the taco shell fryer is for your own personal use or for that of a restaurant or catering business, it is important that the fryer is clean and in good working order for superior taco shell formation.

  1. Carefully examine the taco shell fryer, and remove any loose, broken pieces of taco shell. These can be easily dusted off of the taco shell fryer and discarded.
  2. Put a small amount of dish washing soap into the bottom of a large, clean bowl. Fill the bowl with warm water, and swish the water and soap around so suds begin to form. Put a clean dish washing rag into the bucket, and allow it to soak for a few minutes.
  3. Wring out the rag and use it to begin wiping down the inside of the taco shell fryer. Be sure to be as detailed when possible when cleaning the exterior of the fryer. Leftover grease, dirt, or even food can lead to the development of bacteria and disease. If you are not able to reach a certain spot with the dish washing rag or it is too small to clean, use a Q-tip to scrub the area.
  4. Wipe down the exterior of the taco shell fryer with the same soapy rag, and dry thoroughly. Leave the taco shell fryer in an area where it will be exposed to direct sunlight for a few hours, and allow it to dry completely before use.
