Figuring out how to clear the cache in Internet Explorer to hide porn can save you a lot of grief. As you probably already know, Murphy’s law is more or less in double effect when it comes to the dirty stuff. No matter how locked down you think your computer is, the worst person possible—usually your girlfriend or mother—always seems to stumble across it while uploading photos of family get-togethers to Facebook. But by learning how to clear you browser’s cache of porn, you stand a much better chance of keeping your dirty little secrets under wraps. Read on to find out exactly how.

Things you'll need:

  • Computer
  • Internet Explorer web browser
  1. Don’t worry about which version of Internet Explorer you have. Old Mr. Gates and company have recently revealed efforts to overhaul Microsoft’s default web browser in order to keep up with fierce competitors like Mozilla Firefox and Google Chrome. These updates include better HTML 5 capabilities and faster rendering. But, Microsoft is a standard first kind of company; they want the user to be comfortable and familiar with the software they put out. In effect, no matter which incarnation of Internet Explorer you use, the process to clear your cache of porn is pretty much the same.
  2. First, locate the “Tools” button. This will open up a long list of options and settings, most of which you can ignore. Scan all the way to the very bottom, where a selection termed “Internet Options” will be sitting. Click that button and a new window will appear.
  3. At the top of the window will be several tabs. You should already be located on the one called “General," but if you’re not, navigate to it. In the middle of that page, you will see a section for “Browsing History.” All you have to do for a one-time clearing of all history—including the porn that Internet Explorer saves—is click the “Delete” button.
  4. Internet porn aficionados should know that they can proactively keep porn websites from being saved in the Internet Explorer cache. Simply click the “Settings” button located immediately to the right of the aforementioned “Delete” button. Another new window will appear. At the bottom of it, in a section called “History,” there is a toggle switch that controls how many days Internet Explorer saves the websites you’ve visited. To keep porn websites from ever hitting your Internet Explorer cache, just toggle that number all the way down to zero. Your whole history will be blank from that point on, but you won’t have to remember to clear your cache after each porn browsing session.
