Would you like to copy some information from your DVR to your PC and you need to know how to connect a DVR to a PC? Connecting a DVR to a PC will allow you to copy video or television program files to your computer. Once you have your files copied to your computer you will be able to burn your favorite movies and television shows onto a DVD. You can also save the files on your computer to have long term and then watch them whenever you like to. With the right cables and a few moments of your time you will be able to connect your DVR to your PC easily.

To connect a DVR to a PC you need:

  • DVR
  • PC
  • video cables
  • USB Cable
  1. Connect your USB cable. Connect one end of your USB cable to your DVR player and the other end of your USB cable to the port on your PC.
  2. Hook up the video cables. To connect your DVR to your PC, hook one end of your video cable to the DVR output. Hook the other end of the video cable to your PC.
  3. Adjust your computer setting. You may need to adjust your computer setting. You want to make sure that it is set on 'Network'. This will enable everything to run smoothly while transferring your information from your DVR to your PC.
  4. Pull up your video editing program. If you already don't have an editing software program on your computer you can do a search in a search engine to download one or purchase a program from a computer store. A video editing program will allow you to view the DVR videos on your computer. You are now able to view your DVR recorded files on your PC.
