So you just got a new home theater and now you're wondering how to connect home theater to LCD television. Most home theater systems are very easy to connect to an LCD television; with just a few basic cables and the connection can be completed. Almost all newer home theater systems and LCD televisions use digital audio cables to connect the audio feed from the LCD television to the home theater.

  1. Find the connection port on the back of the LCD television. Turn your LCD television around and look on the back side. You will find the "digital out" port on the back of your LCD television. Connect one end of the cable to your LCD television in the appropriate port.
  2. Find the connection port on the home theater system. Typically located on the central unit of the home theater system, you can find the connection port on the back side. Plug the remaining end of the digital audio cable into this port.
  3. Configure the home theater. Configure any additional settings on the home theater once the LCD television is connected. Consult the user manual for specific details. You will likely need to change the input from "Aux" or "TV."

Tips:

If you do not have any audio coming out of the home theater, try changing the input on the home theater.

If you do not have any audio still, check that the cable is connected correctly on the back of the LCD television.

If your LCD television or home theater does not support digital audio, you can use classic RCA cables.
