There are a lot of reasons that you may want learn how to connect your PC to LCD TV. Maybe you may want to watch the HD movies in your iTunes collection with a real high definition television to see if it really does make a difference. Maybe you want to set up a screen for a larger scale presentation. Maybe your presentation location lacks a projector and you need to set up on an LCD screen. No matter what the motivation for connecting your PC to a LCD TV, the steps will remain the same. Just follow these simple instructions and you will be connected in no time.

  1. Make sure you have the right ports and the right cord. If your TV or PC do not have the right ports there is very little that you can do about that. Adaptors are not always an option for many computers that do not have the native port. You need a DVI (or HDMI which is rarer) port on your computer and an HDMI port on your LCD TV. Once you know which ports you have you will need either a DVI to HDMI or an HDMI to HDMI cord.
  2. Plug in your cord. This should be fairly simple to do. Just be sure that all of devices are off when you do this. Then boot the computer and turn on the TV. Be sure to set the TV to the setting for the HDMI port you plugged into. They may be labeled or you may need to cycle through the channels on your TV to find the right one.
