How To Cook Macaroni And Cheese

Now you can get information on how to cook macaroni and cheese from an experienced chef. Homemade macaroni and cheese is a popular delicacy in many homes around the country. Cooking macaroni and cheese is very easy and the following tips provide a guide on how to prepare the dish.

For a small family meal, you require:

  • 1 cup of elbow macaroni
  • 3 tbsp. of butter
  • ¼ cup of grated Parmesan
  • 1 cup of Cheddar cheese
  • 2 ½ cups of milk
  • 1 tbsp. of salt
  • ¼ tbsp. of pepper
  • ¼ cup of flour
  1. Preheat a bowl of water to about 350°F (175°C). Add a pinch of salt and pepper to taste. Use this water to cook the macaroni for a few minutes. After the macaroni is tender and half cooked, drain the water and place the macaroni in a bowl. 
  2. Melt butter on a saucepan for a few minutes and add floor. Stir the butter and flour briskly for about three minutes until you make a paste. Add the milk gradually and continue stirring. Add the Cheddar and Parmesan cheese to add flavor to the dish. Continue whisking it until the mixture becomes saucy.
  3. Add this mixture to the macaroni and mix them together. Place everything together in a large casserole dish. If the paste becomes too thin, add more cheese. If it becomes too thick, add a bit of milk. Let the mixture sit for a while until the macaroni and cheese mixes well together.
  4. Place the mixture into an ovenproof dish. Sprinkle the remaining Cheddar and Parmesan cheese over the top of the dish to add more flavor. Bake the dish for about fifteen to 30 minutes until the cheese becomes brown starts to bubbles.
