Many celebrities, schools, and famous institutions have one, so why not learn how to create a page on Facebook for yourself? As a central component of the social network, the page on Facebook is something many people can identify with. Whether it is Bob Saget or Deadmau5, users want a page on Facebook to keep up with their favorite cultural icons. So get ready as we learn how to create a page on Facebook with relative ease and organization!

To create a page on Facebook you need the following:

  • Proper authorization
  • Facebook account
  • Computer
  • Internet Service Provider
  • Modem
  • Internet connection
  1. Log into Facebook. Take this time to start up your computer, let it boot, and then launch your favorite Internet browser. Navigate to Facebook's website and log into your account. You should now be at the homepage of your personal Facebook account.
  2. Ensure that you have proper clearance. To make a page on Facebook you first have to understand that impersonating another person/entity online is not okay. In other words, don't pretend you are a company, celebrity, or anything else that you do not have proper authorization from to represent.
  3. Navigate to the "create a page" page on Facebook. The exact, specifc URL you need to get to is http://www.facebook.com/pages/create.php, although it can be accessed in other ways. You can check out the Facebook help section and look for "page creation" under that. From there, it will guide you to the proper URL (as well as give you some invaluable tips).
  4. Select your category. Each page has a certain category. Facebook uses the "job", "product", "local business", "celebrity", "entertainment", and "cause" categories to organize pages (among other labels). Select one and proceed (note: there are also several sub-categories such as "Bank" or "School" which you will have to choose among as well).
  5. Touch up. There are several things you can do to a page on Facebook to "spiff it up". First off, make sure your "page" has a nice, snazzy photo to upload onto its front page. Second, fill out miscellaneous information such as addresses, biographies, or even quotes. Lastly, your page should most certainly have a status update every now and again; that's a definite must.
  6. Promote! A page on Facebook is nothing without good P.R. Tell your friends, tell their friends, then tell your real-life friends. Soon, everyone will "like" your page on Facebook and be updated by all of your statuses!

If there is one thing Facebook is not, it's complicated. Sure, we all get tired dealing with the constant posting, and not to mention the over-informative nature of the whole social network, but it's still pretty streamlined. So long as you have general computer know-how, it's easy to create a page on Facebook.
