How To Cut Elastic Out Of Baseball Pants
Need to know how to cut the elastic out of baseball pants? Baseball pants have changed styles over the years, from the original baggy knickers to the pants that fall above the knee. One of the most current looks in baseball pants is having the hem of each pant leg go over the top of the shoe. Many companies sell long, un-hemmed baseball pants. This long look can also be achieved by cutting the elastic out of your baseball pants.
To cut the elastic out of baseball pants, you will need:
- A pair of sharp scissors
- A seam ripper (optional)
First, gather your materials. In order to cut the elastic out of the baseball pants, you will need a pair of sharp scissors or a seam ripper. A seam ripper can be purchased at any fabric store or any department store that sells sewing supplies.
- Turn the pants inside out. Use a seam ripper to completely remove the hem of the pants. You can also use the scissors to cut the thread in the hem. Once you have opened the hem, use the scissors to cut the elastic out of the pants by cutting the elastic in half and removing it from the bottom of the pants. You should also be able to slide the elastic out of the hem.
- You can also cut the elastic out of the pants by cutting a small hole near the hem of the pants on the inside of the leg. Use the scissors or another sharp object to pull part of the elastic out of the hole. Use the scissors to cut the elastic and pull it out of the hole. This will leave the hem intact but will allow you to remove the elastic.
