How To Decorate Easter Eggs

Learning how to decorate Easter eggs is both easy and fun. You can set aside an afternoon to spend with your children dying and decorating Easter eggs. You may want to make sure your eggs are hard boiled ahead of time. It is not wise to decorate eggs that have not been boiled first, because they break easily.

You will need the following items to decorate Easter eggs:

  • Hard boiled eggs
  • Easter egg dying kit
  • Rubber bands
  • Crayons
  • Stickers

Follow these steps to decorate Easter eggs:

  1. Follow the directions on your Easter egg dying kit. Usually you need to add 1 tablespoon of vinegar and a color tablet to 4 ounces of water. Make sure you have one cup for each different color tablet.
  2. You can wrap some of your hard boiled eggs in rubber bands. Then place them in the cup that has the color you want to turn your egg. This will give you an egg that looks plaid.
  3. You can also write on some of your Easter eggs with a crayon. Then dip your egg in to one of the cups of dye. The wax from the crayon will keep that area from becoming dyed. This is a great way to create Easter eggs with a message.
  4. Wait for the eggs to dry, and then add some Easter stickers to them.

Tips:

Sprinkle glitter on the Easter eggs while they are still wet with dye. The glitter will stick to the egg when it dries.

Warnings:

Make sure you lay out some newspaper or a plastic tablecloth from the Dollar Store. If you don't, you may get dye all over your table.
