How To Deepen Voice

Do you want to learn how to deepend your voice? There are simple steps anyone can do to help deepen the voice. In adolescence, boys long for the voice to make the transformation quickly from boyhood to manhood. For a while, he’ll settle for his voice to just stop betraying him when he opens his mouth to speak. When it’s all said and done, the journey through puberty will ideally leave a permanently deeper voice on the other side. A deep voice is not only sexy, but it naturally commands respect from others.

The larynx is actually a muscle and the vocal cords stretch across it much like rubber bands. This causes the vibrations you can feel within the throat and on the neck. Muscles can be toned and exercised to help strengthen them. Strong vocal cords will give a greater range in your voice. One of the easiest ways to deepen the voice is by first paying attention to the one you already have.

  1. Start with simple voice exercises by repeating a word in your normal tone of voice. Repeat the word with a deeper tone in your voice each time. Repeat with the deepest sound you can make out of your mouth. This will give you an idea of the deepest natural tone of your voice. Then, simply practice going lower with your voice to a note that doesn’t feel at all natural to you. Don’t strain your voice to the point of hoarseness, but do repeat this exercise several times a day.
  2. To get a sensual and baritone voice, start by listening to one. Choose an actor you admire who has a deep voice and listen to a clip of him speaking. Try to mimic his voice. After all, think of how an actor learns to copy someone else’s voice for a script. He can even transform his voice to one with a distinct foreign accent with enough practice. Although acting might not be in your blood, applying this technique frequently can deepen the voice almost effortlessly. Record yourself copying him and use this as a tool to gage your progress.
  3. Try putting your finger tips underneath your sternum on the upper abdomen known as the solar plexus. Feel the vibrations as you hum. Practice lowering the tone each time you hum and feel the vibration at it seems to deepen as well. Every chance you get to make deep throaty sounds, such as "mmm-hmm," when you nod in reply to someone will make you keenly aware of the depth and tone of your own voice. Daily practice, paying attention to your own voice and repetition will do wonders to help successfully deepen the voice.

Voice quality is part genetics, but it can also be from environmental issues. Health concerns such as smoking also can cause the voice to deepen. Healthy ways to deepen the voice won't put stress on the vocal cords. Straining the vocal cords into hoarseness with excessive shouting or screaming shouldn’t be confused with exercises intended to help deepen the voice in a natural and healthy way.
