How To Delete Apps On An iPod Touch

Need to know how to delete apps on an iPod Touch? Maybe you downloaded a couple of free apps that didn't work out, maybe you downloaded a sports app that was only good for one season. Or worse yet, maybe you forked over your hard-earned money for an app that didn't do what it was supposed to. Regardless of what happened and how it got there, the app is dead weight and has to go. Lucky for you, deleting apps on the iPod Touch isn't terribly difficult to do.

  1. Locate the app you want to get rid of. Hold your finger on the app you want to delete from your iPod Touch like you are going to select it, but don't depress your finger. All of the apps on that screen will start to shake.
  2. The apps that you've loaded onto your iPod Touch will have "X"s with circles around them in the upper left-hand corner. The apps that came pre-loaded on your iPod Touch will not. Simply press the "X" in the upper left-hand corner of the app on your iPod Touch you wish to delete.
  3. A box will pop up giving you the option to delete the app or cancel your request. Press "Delete." Occasionally, a box will pop up asking you to rate the app. Whether you choose to rate the app or not, the app will still be deleted. If for some reason the app is not removed, restart your device and repeat the steps above to delete the app from your iPod Touch.
