How To Delete Hotmail Account
If you have ever tried to delete your Hotmail account, you have probably discovered that Microsoft doesn't make this task simple. With most email accounts, you can access your account settings and close out an account from there, but with Hotmail, you have to find the cancel page in a roundabout way. Don't worry; it is still easy to delete your Hotmail account as long as you know how to find the right page. Just be sure to send your saved email messages to another email account.
- Sign in to Hotmail. Log in to your Hotmail account with your username and password when you are ready to delete your Hotmail account.
- Access the "Help" section. Click the "Help" button (it is a blue circle with a question mark in the center) and select "Help" from the drop-down menu. "Help" options will open in a new page. You are on your way to being able to delete your Hotmail account.
- Find "Close Account" page. Click the "Table of Contents" link in the menu in the left pane and then click "Set up a Windows Live Hotmail Account." This will open several account options; select "Close your account." Click the link that reads "Windows Live Hotmail close account" to delete your Hotmail account.
- Close your account. In the "Close Account" page that opens, you will be given some information about what happens when you close your account. For example, when you close your account, your emails will be deleted and incoming messages will be refused. Click the "Close account" button to verify that you want to delete your Hotmail account.
