Need to know how to do a 360 on a snowboard? Sure, 180s and grabs are cool, but if you really want to impress people on the slopes, you’re going to need to break out the 360 on your snowboard. The 360 is the classic rotational trick. It looks great on its own and also opens the door to a variety of other maneuvers. The following steps will break down the process of doing a 360 on a snowboard.

  1. Before you try to do a 360 on a snowboard, you should be comfortable with 180s and standard aerials. Jumping blindly into 360 attempts is a good way to get hurt. Make sure you are familiar with the terrain. It’s often a good idea to take a few practice runs before trying to do a 360 on a snowboard.
  2. Gain speed and approach the jump on your hill-side rail. Launch into the air. The motions you use when attempting to do a 360 on a snowboard should be similar to the motions used for a 180.
  3. Lead with your head. Remember, the body follows the head and shoulders, so all rotation starts in the dome. Start the rotation as soon as you are airborne.
  4. Try to spot your landing about halfway through the rotation. If you are leading properly with your head, the landing should be in view well before your body and board spin all the way around. Once you spot the landing, keep your eyes on it. Don’t over rotate.
  5. Bend your knees and land with both feet. Ride away. Congratulations, you just nailed your first 360 on a snowboard!
